Bioinformatician Tom Ederveen joins PedResp Group parttime
Dear all,
Happy to shortly introduce myself here. I am Tom, bioinformatician at the Radboudumc Nijmegen with a background in medical biology, and currently active as a staff scientist at the Medical BioSciences department (MBS). In my research, I have always had a strong focus on the analysis of human-associated bacterial (meta)genomes and microbiota (i.e. microbiome studies), and on clinically-relevant host-microbe interactions in terms of human immune functioning or other (system) processes in health or disease.
I work in dynamic collaboration and support of many different departments and disciplines within our institute, most notably the departments of (experimental) Dermatology and Medical Microbiology. I am happy to share that as of August 2025, I will also be joining the Paediatric Respiratory Infection & Immunity research team for one day a week. I am looking forward to sharing my microbiomics knowledge with the team and helping with the analysis of exciting and clinically relevant data sets wherever I can.
Please feel free to reach out to me on any occasion, looking forward to get to know and talk to you all.
Best,
Tom Ederveen
