Welcome Nicky, Julia, Nina and Laura to the PedResp group!

The start of the new academic year brings four enthusiastic students to the PedResp group, each contributing to a different project. We are excited to see the contributions these students will bring to our projects!

Nicky de Bie

Nicky de Bie is a second year Medical Biology master’s student who is working on the PAGE project together with our Postdoc Myrthe, studying polyreactive antibodies across Dutch cohorts as well as samples from our global collaborators within the PAGE project.

Julia Kiefmann

Julia Kiefmann, also a Medical Biology master student, will be working on the Muco-Kids study to monitor host mucosal immune dynamics. She will begin her internship and thesis work at the Radboudumc, followed by an exciting continuation of her internship in Cape Town, South Africa, with Drs. Mish-Al Barday and Dr. Marieke van der Zalm.

Nina Pellenkoft

Nina Pellenkoft, a Biomedical Sciences master’s student, has started her internship with PhD candidate Sam on the RISE study. As the fieldwork for the RISE study is based in the Caribbean, she has travelled to the Dutch side of St. Maarten to continue her research on site.

Laura Palau Grabulosa

Laura Palau Grabulosa is a Microbiology master student joining our Postdoc Rienke on the EMINENT project, conducting research on tonsil cell stimulation and proliferation using material obtained from routine ENT surgeries.
